William Lingard has a broad expertise in starting and managing businesses, and is passionate about growing them into ventures that best serve the needs of the community. With years of experience extending across a wide range of industries, he is motivated by the opportunity to tackle some of the challenges faced by the healthcare sector.
Initially, he became interested in rehabilitative technology after sustaining a sports injury. He spent three years studying corrective exercise and became a qualified personal trainer and massage therapist. It was through this that he met Paul Deveney, a physiotherapist, and began looking at new technologies that can aid the rehabilitation process.
Together, they formed a plan to improve access to MRI scans and create a patient-centred service that is affordable and high quality. It is their belief that all great companies are started to positively change people’s lives, and they have built MRI Jersey around this core principle.
“Starting and developing businesses is where my passion lies, and where I’m best able to play to my strengths. My dyslexia, for instance, held me back at school- but now gives me a unique perspective, which helps me find solutions to problems that might otherwise have been overlooked. I know first-hand how much of an asset your health is, and I’m excited to be working on an area of huge interest to me.”
Paul Deveney has been a physiotherapist for over 30 years. He spent the first 10 years of his career at the Jersey General Hospital, and in 1997 established his own private physio clinic. He has extensive experience in treating a range of musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries, and specialises in biomechanical issues, knee, and lower back problems.
Dedicated to improving patient outcomes, he partnered with local businessman William Lingard, and spent several years researching, and then carefully planning, the opening of a high-quality scanning facility. MRI Jersey is the product of this work, and Paul has recently undergone training and certification to be able to manage and operate Jersey’s new MRI scanner.
"I became acutely aware of the difficulty my patients were having in finding affordable, accessible imaging which is crucial to their prompt diagnosis and treatment. Following extensive research, I am proud to have been able to fulfil my ambition of bringing an MRI imaging service to Jersey that can provide that. I’m looking forward to welcoming patients and delivering an efficient and cost-effective service to the population.”
Paul Davies BDS has joined MRI Jersey to consult on the creation of an affordable and accessible MRI Imaging service.
A veteran of growing businesses in the healthcare sector, he brings a wealth of knowledge from his experience setting up and developing two of the largest dental practices on Jersey.
In 1993, he purchased Halkett Place Dental Practice, whose early success and growth led to the establishment of Indigo Dental in 2002. Then, in 2017, he advised on the opening of Little Grove dental practice, which quickly grew into one of the top practices on the island.
A key tenet of Paul’s work is providing affordable but high-quality care, which lies at the heart of MRI Jersey’s mission.
In his free time, Paul enjoys playing golf, visiting the gym, and spending quality time with his family and friends.

At this time, we are able to offer MRI scans on ankles, knees, wrists and elbows.
On arrival we will go through some checks and forms, which should take no longer than 5 minutes. These will ensure that you can have the scan done safely. If you are nervous, please don’t worry - our MRI extremity scanner is open plan, eliminating the problem of claustrophobia and it is much quieter than a full body MRI scanner. Only the area to be scanned will be placed inside the scanner. The appointment slot is for 45 minutes; the time that your scan will take will range from 20-25 minutes, depending on what scan you are having.
We aim to have the radiologist’s report back to your GP or specialist within 3-5 days of your appointment. This is included in the cost of the appointment.
An MRI scan inclusive of a radiologist’s report will cost £349 if you pay on arrival at your appointment. Our standard fee is £450, this will be invoiced, please note this option is only for preauthorised businesses.
You will be able to pay on the day of your appointment using, visa, mastercard, maestro, Amex, apple pay and google pay. We do not accept cash payments. If you are intending to pay via insurance, this must be preauthorised with your insurance company and you will need to provide an insurance code whilst booking your appointment.
We want you to be comfortable for your exam, on arrival at your appointment, you will have the opportunity to change if you wish or you could arrive in comfortable clothing. Unfortunately, some of today's stretch athletic clothing contains small metal threads. These fibers are used to help stop odor and prevent bacteria from building up but when it comes to MRI's, these metal threads are dangerous. We also encourage you to avoid wearing clothing items that indicate the use of "coolmax" or "silver technology" for your exam as these terms typically indicate the use of metal threads. Please also avoid wearing clothing with loose or damaged buttons, pins or studs. 100% cotton clothing is safe and preferred for MRI. You can wear full length trousers, regular jeans and jogging bottoms. The area to be scanned needs to be completely free of metal and plastic.
You will be asked to remove all jewellery, watches and accessories, we would recommend you leave these items at home or safely stored in your car. We do have lockers but we do not take responsibility for personal items.
We understand that things come up and you may need to change or cancel your appointment. Please let us know at the earliest convenience by calling 01534 888099 to enable us the chance to offer somebody else your appointment.
